About Me

Welcome to my ECI 201 blog! My name is Kaitlyn Oakley and I am a Sophomore studying Elementary Education. I am a Resident Advisor at University Towers, the president of Beach Volleyball Club at NC State, and a huge NC State Athletics fan! I’m from Greensboro, North Carolina and I decided to come to NC State with the intention of going to dental school after my undergraduate studies; however, I learned that I had a strong passion for working with kids and decided to switch to teaching! I’ve always had a passion for working with children, but it was specifically sparked this past summer when I worked as a camp counselor at Camp Joy, which is a summer camp for kids and adults with mental and/or physical disabilities. I was able to work with the younger cabins and I absolutely loved it. I’m looking forward to learning more about how to help kids get the most out of the schooling system and specifically with the use of technology in the classroom!
