My Teaching Philosophy

I am here to be a teacher, and to touch the lives of as many students as I can in and out of the classroom. I want to teach children that they have value, a purpose, and a future, despite whatever background they come from or what they have heard from others. I want to get to know my students so I can figure out the best way to teach them in a way they will understand, and foster the most successful learning environment. I want to have an inclusive classroom where everyone feels welcome to share their thoughts and ideas openly and without judgement. I want to encourage creativity and critical thinking throughout my lesson plans and the decorations I put in my classroom, because one of the most important parts of education is to help students learn how to think for themselves in a productive way. I want to make kind, helpful, and influential members of society who are going to go out and make a difference in the world. To do this, I will incorporate group work and service activities into my class design. I want to be seen as a teacher who is passionate about her job, and who inspired and pushed students to be the very best that they can be in all aspects of life.
